Blaupunkt headquarters is situated in Hildesheim, Germany. A Bosch subsidiary, Blaupunkt is market leader for car radios in Europe. 7500 employees work for Blaupunkt around the world and more than 5 million car radios and 500 000 navigation systems are produced every year.
The blue dot appeared for the first time on headphones in 1923. It was considered a seal of quality that was given after the product had undergone rigorous testing, and in principle, nothing much has changed to this day. The blue dot designated products of outstanding quality at that time and continues to do so today. Since Blaupunkt built the first car radio, the blue dot has also represented the company's leadership in innovation in the field of mobile communications.
